Paul Y. Hammond Memorial Lecture: Does Strategic Intelligence Matter?

Does strategic intelligence limit or empower national security and foreign policy decision making? What are the impacts of politicization on intelligence? 

Richard Betts, a renowned scholar and national security expert, discusses strategic intelligence. He is the Arnold A. Saltzman Professor of War and Peace Studies in the political science department, Director of the Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies, and Director of the International Security Policy program in the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. Additionally, he is an adjunct Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, having earlier served as its Director of National Security Studies.
