Spencer Riley, a second-year nursing student at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, has been selected to receive the associate degree in nursing scholarship from the Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania.
The competitive scholarship recognizes outstanding nursing students across the state who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and a commitment to the nursing profession.
In October, Riley will be honored at the Nightingale Awards Gala, which brings together nursing professionals and educators from across Pennsylvania to celebrate the achievements of the state’s most promising and dedicated nurses.
“We are incredibly proud of Spencer and grateful for the Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania Scholarship opportunity to assist Spencer in meeting his academic goals,” said Jean Truman, director of nursing programs for the University of Pittsburgh’s Titusville and Bradford campuses.
The Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania is a nonprofit organization that has supported nursing excellence through recognition and scholarships for more than 35 years.
“Nurses are critical to patient care and the most trusted professionals in the field. Spencer Riley’s achievement is a wonderful example of the future of nursing,” said Stephanie Fiely, executive director of the Education and Training Center at Pitt-Titusville.
