The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford was named a Best for Vets College by Military Times, a dedicated independent news source for active-duty military, their families and retirees.
This is the third year Pitt-Bradford has been recognized by Military Times. The campus has also received 15 consecutive years of recognition as a Military Friendly School by Viqtory Media for its support of active military and veteran students. And, in September, U.S. News & World Report ranked Pitt-Bradford No. 7 among Best Colleges for Veterans in the North.
Pitt-Bradford has also been named a Military Spouse Friendly School, a designation that helps military spouses select schools that will support them in their education journey by meeting their unique needs as part of a military family.
To figure out its list, Military Times looks at success metrics, military-specific resources and the level of financial aid schools offer. It also considered admissions and registration policies.
“Pitt-Bradford is proud to support our nation’s veterans and their family members in pursuit of their academic and career goals,” said James Baldwin, vice president for enrollment management. “This recognition from Military Times reflects our priority to provide a world-class education to students who have served our country, and we continue to offer support that will help them succeed both in and out of the classroom.”
Support at Pitt-Bradford for veterans includes academic coaching and tutoring, disability resources, an academic advising center, writing and mathematics centers, and career and counseling services. Pitt-Bradford also offers credits for veterans through various standardized exams, priority registration for classes and mental health services.
