The University of Pittsburgh ranks in the top 100 universities worldwide across several categories, including life sciences and medical and health, according to a new ranking by Times Higher Education.
Times Higher Education is a British magazine focusing on higher education. The magazine ranks universities across 11 subject areas, evaluating schools in each area on the quality of teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook and industry.
Pitt was ranked No. 75 worldwide in medical and health, No. 79 in arts and humanities, No. 96 in education and No. 99 in life sciences in the magazine’s latest list. The University also ranked in the top 150 schools for psychology, the top 175 schools for law and the top 200 schools for the social sciences.
Among Association of American Universities publics — the leading public research universities in the U.S. — Pitt improved its rankings across several categories, rising in law to No. 12 and in social sciences to No. 26, achieving an overall rank of No. 24.
The rankings join other recent accolades for Pitt, which has been named a top college for future leaders by Time magazine, a best value law school by National Jurist and a New Ivy by Forbes.
