Pitt’s Recreation and Wellness Center, the epitome of student-centered, innovative design on the University’s campus, was featured in Campus Rec Magazine. The nine-story, 270,000-plus-square-foot facility, opened last fall features state-of-the-art amenities — including an aquatics center, an indoor sky track, courts and a climbing wall.
In the publication’s May/June cover story, the Recreation and Wellness Center is heralded for its accessible programming, emotional well-being resources and visionary design that connects Pitt’s upper and lower campuses.
“It’s exciting to see Pitt recognized as a leader in the future of campus recreation,” said Carla M. Panzella, vice provost for student affairs.
“The Recreation and Wellness Center was designed to break down barriers to wellness and connection by bringing recreation, fitness and well-being resources together in one centralized space that truly serves all students,” she added. “Being featured nationally not only highlights the innovation behind the facility but also reinforces Pitt’s commitment to supporting the holistic health and success of our students.”
