Pitt is in the top 0.5% of universities, per the World University Rankings

Pitt is in the top half percent of all universities worldwide, according to the World University Rankings, the largest academic rankings of global universities.

The Center for World University Rankings, a consulting organization for governments and universities, ranked 21,291 universities total on more than 81 million outcome-based data points across the categories of education, employability, faculty and research. The methods rely on objective measurements and do not include survey data or university submissions.

Pitt landed at No. 86 worldwide and No. 42 nationally, rising to No. 39 in the American Association of Universities (AAU) and holding firm at No. 20 among AAU public universities.
