Six teams and people from the University of Pittsburgh were recognized at the Suitable Pathways to Student Success Conference for their impact on student success and co-curricular learning.
Pitt programs were honored for programmatic excellence at the annual event, which is sponsored by Suitable, a software company that partners with schools to increase student engagement outside the classroom. The David C. Frederick Honors College received a Student Success Innovator award. The Office of the Provost won a prize for Most Activities Created, while the School of Law and the School of Pharmacy were both honored for Most Activities Completed.
Dana Romano, director of career and industry engagement in the Swanson School of Engineering, received the Suitable Spirit Award. The honor recognizes people and programs that go the extra mile to ensure all students can succeed — and do it with enthusiasm, dedication and a sense of fun. Read more from the Swanson School.
Audrey Murrell, professor in the School of Business, won the Suitable Staple Award for her 12 years of support to the company. She met the company’s founders — Pitt alumni Mark Visco Jr. (BUS ’14) and Dominic Visco (ENGR ’13) — when they competed in what is now the Randall Family Big Idea Competition. Murrell has mentored the brothers over the years as their app grew into Suitable, which serves 100 institutions across the country.
