The University of Pittsburgh will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
There will be no classes and many faculty and staff will be off for this paid federal holiday. Here’s what you need to know about closures and activities across campus:
Transit: Pitt campus shuttles — including routes 10A, 20A, 30C and SafeRider — are running on a modified holiday schedule. Pittsburgh Regional Transit will be running on its normal weekday schedule.
Dining: Hours and availability differ by location. See Pitt Eats hours of operation.
Panther Central and residence halls: Operating as normal.
University Store of Fifth, Maggie and Stella’s, and The Pitt Shop: Closed.
In honor of King’s legacy, Pitt will also host service and engagement opportunities throughout the day. These PittServes events bring together students, faculty and staff for volunteer projects with local community partners. All volunteer opportunities have been filled, but you can still join the waitlist.
