Get the most interesting and important stories from the University of Pittsburgh.Pitt Day of Giving (PDoG) returns on Feb. 24 as the entire University of Pittsburgh community comes together to show the power of generosity — and celebrate the 10th anniversary of this Pitt tradition.
In 24 hours, PDoG fuels incredible possibilities throughout the year for students, faculty, schools, colleges, places, experiences and more at all of Pitt’s campuses.
With PDoG bonus funds and challenges that make gifts of any size go even further, it’s also the best day of the year to show your support for Pitt. Plus, this milestone year features even more campus activities leading up to the big day and the on-screen reunion of our five campus mascots.
Last year, 11,423 donors representing all 50 states, 23 countries and five continents gave to dozens of areas across the University, funding scholarships, research, academic programs, student organizations, athletics and other vital initiatives. With you on our PDoG team, we can make the 10th annual PDoG an extraordinary day for the Pitt community.
Here’s how to join in:
Make your gift starting Feb. 10 — early gifts count, too.
Watch our mascots from across the entire Pitt community on social and video. Bruiser, PJ, Pounce, Piper and Roc — the ultimate PDoG squad — are together again after their history-making debut last year.
Play our leveled-up video game. Choose a mascot and dash across campus in our video game, back and even better in its second year.
Join us for 10 Days of PDoG. Get in on the celebration with an array of Pittsburgh campus activities starting Feb. 15. Here’s just a sampling of the fun:
- Prowl the Pittsburgh campus. Donor-sponsored Find-A-Panther plushies will be hidden around campus on Feb. 15, 19 and 24. Find one and you’ll get to choose any participating Pitt organization or area to receive $100.
- Compete with trivia. Answer questions on Feb. 20 (noon-4 p.m. in the William Pitt Union) and Feb. 24 in (noon-3 p.m. in The Eatery; 4-7 p.m. in Litchfield Towers Lobby) for a chance to win one of four $400 prizes for your favorite participating school, organization, program, club or other area.
- Donate to Pitt Pantry. Bring a canned good or nonperishable food item to the William Pitt Union’s Lower Lounge Feb. 18 or 24, noon-4 p.m., and receive a free PDoG giveaway while supplies last.
- Attend Food Trucks Fest. Stop by Gallagher Plaza at the William Pitt Union on Feb. 24, noon-4 p.m., for food, fun and giveaways.
