The University of Pittsburgh Office of the Provost is accepting nominations for its 22nd Provost’s Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring, acknowledging graduate faculty members for excellence in the mentoring of research doctoral students, as well as a new award: the Provost’s Award for Experiential Learning and Impact.

The Doctoral Mentoring Award annually recognizes up to four outstanding mentors who have had an impact on students seeking research doctorate degrees. Each award includes a cash prize of $2,500 and public recognition.

The newly launched Provost’s Award for Experiential Learning and Impact will annually recognize outstanding achievement in the design, implementation and assessment of experiential learning opportunities that support students in making meaningful impacts on themselves, their professions and their communities. Up to five recipients may be selected with each receiving a $2,500 cash prize.

Nominations for both awards are due by Oct. 16. Eligibility details and nomination guidelines and instructions are available on the awards pages linked above. Awards will be presented at the 2027 Faculty Honors Convocation.
