If you are a Pitt researcher interested in seeing your discoveries make an impact on the world through licensing to an existing company, or starting a new company, the Pitt Venture's First Gear program provides the support and mentoring to help you begin your journey.

What is First Gear?

First Gear provides expert guidance from established entrepreneurs who can help you determine the market potential for your innovation. We provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to take your ideas through every step of the commercialization process, including:

• $3,000 in pre-commercialization funding
• One-on-one mentoring
• Networking with other Pitt innovators
• Access to additional funding opportunities

The six virtual workshops are held on Tuesdays from 4-6:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 1. Apply by Aug. 15. See website for exact dates.
