Call for Submissions for Student Public Art Competition

While the Pitt community is physically distanced and socially, having a sense of empowerment, community and inspiration—particularly one derived from art and artistic expression—has become even more central to the community’s communal struggles for justice.

Pitt’s Student Government Board (SGB) is holding a student-facing call for submissions from student artists or groups of student artists for the design of a new, public mural on campus that captures the power, pain and possibilities stemming from these struggles faced by those in the University and Pittsburgh communities.

The project is a joint effort of the undergraduate Student Government Board and the Provost’s Public Art on Campus Initiative.

Apply online by Tuesday, March 30, by midnight.

Full details are available on the SGB website. Questions can be sent to SGB Chief of Staff csu1 [at] pitt.edu (Caroline Unger).
