Pitt Business Students Offer Free Online Tax Prep Help

The IRS has announced the 2021 filing season will begin on Feb.12. Once again, Pitt Business students are offering free tax preparation help to individuals with annual incomes of $57,000 or less, through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Jocelyn Carlin, clinical assistant professor of business administration, supervises the project, which is offered through the David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership in Pitt’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, in partnership with the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

This season, Pitt Business accounting students are offering personalized tax help online. Register online for the virtual tax preparation services.

Since 2002, Pitt Business students have volunteered their tax preparation skills to help members of the community. Read more about the project’s roots on the Katz website.
