‘Sustaining Sustainability’ Podcast Returns

The Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) podcast, “Sustaining Sustainability,” returned from its summer hiatus with a new episode on Friday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m.

CSB Director CB Bhattacharya hosts the series, which explores sustainability lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic through interviews with guests from around the world—leaders in industry, government, academia and civil society. Each 15-minute episode explores a specific topic related to the societal challenges magnified by the COVID-19 crisis. Alongside Bhattacharya, the podcast is produced by CSB Associate Director Leslie Marshall and CSB Sustainability Coordinator Alyssa Martinec.

“The COVID-19 pandemic takes all of the sustainability issues we’ve been talking about for years and brings them to the forefront,” Bhattacharya said. “‘Sustaining Sustainability’ has been very well received by our audience and has provided an opportunity to engage with new partners around the world who are striving to build back better as we move into the future. We look forward to continuing the conversation this fall with an exciting new lineup of guests.”

Bhattacharya relaunches the podcast with a conversation with Lisa Osborne Ross, chief operating officer of communications firm Edelman US and president of Edelman Washington D.C. They discuss the growing importance of brand trust during the pandemic and how companies can navigate brand trust as part of their sustainability strategy.

New episodes drop every other Friday. Upcoming guests include Vipin Sondhi, managing director and CEO, Ashok Leyland Limited; Carolina Lobato, vice president Legal, Kinross Brasil Mineração; and Rebecca Marmot, chief sustainability officer, Unilever.
