The fourth president of the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg has announced her retirement, effective in 2019, after more than a decade of influential leadership.
Ann E. Cudd, dean of the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Boston University, was named Pitt’s provost and senior vice chancellor at the Board of Trustees meeting on June 29.

The University of Pittsburgh Board of Trustees approved the hiring of a chief investment officer and a treasurer for the University during its June 29 meeting. It also elected five new members.
The University of Pittsburgh recently unveiled a sculpture of Thomas Starzl, “the father of organ transplantation,” near the Cathedral of Learning. Starzl is also featured in a new documentary with Pitt origins, titled “Burden of Genius.”
In its first year, Pittwire brought national and international exposure to the work done at Pitt, with stories that inspired and resonated with the public — and Pittwire itself garnered several journalism awards and honors in May.

As state legislators begin working to pass a budget by June 30, students, alumni, faculty and staff journeyed from Oakland to Harrisburg to call for predictable and adequate funding for Pitt.
