Pitt Stops
"Conflict and Compromise: The Correspondence Between Pittsburgh Steel Titans Andrew Carnegie and Henry Clay Frick"

If you are one of the many Pittsburghers who are fascinated by the legendary industrialists who shaped our city, come hear a fascinating presentation by David Grinnell, the University Library System (ULS) Reference and Access Archivist. He will talk about the Frick Collection which contains the correspondence between Andrew Carnegie and Henry Clay Frick, including letters and telegrams pertaining to the famous Homestead Strike.

Historians familiar with the Civil War collection at the Carnegie Free Library will also be on hand to talk about the town and library’s namesake, Andrew Carnegie, who paid $850 to discharge his responsibilities as a draftee, but served in the War Department reorganizing telegraph service for the Union army.
