Theater: Our Town

October 5, 2017 - 8:00pm to October 15, 2017 - 10:00pm

Hosted by the University of Pittsburgh Stages, "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder, will be featured during Homecoming Week beginning October 5 and will run through October 16.

A landmark in American drama, Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning "Our Town", tells the story of a small town, Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire.

Narrated by the “stage manager,” the story follows the Gibbs and Webb families, residents of Grover’s Corners, through twelve years of life changes. Through the young lovers Emily and George, their strong and loving parents and the many other Grover’s Corners locals, Wilder delivers universal truths about what it means to be human.

With humor, wit and exceptionally powerful storytelling, Our Town offers a unique opportunity for audience members to make precisely that realization.

Pitt undergrads make up the entire cast. The set, costumes and lighting designs are all creations of Pitt undergrads.

This strong cast of actors is under the direction of the talented actor and director, Ricardo Vila-Roger.

Tickets will be available online or by phone in September.  Special pricing for alumni will be $15 per ticket ($10 off the regular price). For more information, visit www.play.pitt.edu or call 412-624-7529.
