From record-breaking innovation to a world-class green renovation and new home for recreation, there was plenty of campus news to keep track of this year. In case you missed some of the other highlights:
- In the spring, Pitt celebrated its largest graduating class yet at PPG Paints Arena. Then in the fall, the University welcomed its largest-ever incoming class.
- Pitt graduates rival Ivy Leaguers when it comes to career-readiness, according to Forbes.
- School of Medicine researchers successfully restored vision to blind patients using a wireless retinal implant.
- The University is leading Pittsburgh into the life sciences century, providing training and job-readiness programs for local residents in middle school, young adulthood and beyond.
That’s not to mention annual favorites like Lantern Night, Homecoming and commencement — which featured a speech from a familiar face.
