Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week 2021

Tags

After more than a year of resilience through many unknowns, the University will celebrate its employees with special events and prizes during Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week.

This year’s celebration — which takes place June 7-11 — will be almost entirely virtual, although a few on-campus surprises are in the works, especially for those employees who have been present to support academics and research throughout the pandemic.

The week begins with the Chancellor’s Annual Staff Recognition Ceremony to celebrate staff who have served Pitt for 20, 30, 40 or 50 or more years on Monday at 3 p.m. The winners of this year’s Chancellor’s Awards will be announced throughout the week as well. (Update: These winners will be announced in July.)

Everyone — not just faculty and staff — can participate in the week by going to thankyou.pitt.edu to post a note of thanks to colleagues, mentors and friends on the virtual wall. Last year, the site was viewed more than 12,600 times throughout the week.

Raffle prizes will be also awarded to faculty and staff throughout the week. Prizes include tickets and packages for local sports and family fun, as well as Pitt swag and self-care items. Register online at thankyou.pitt.edu and watch your pitt.edu email inbox for a notification if you win. Registration closes on Monday, June 7, at 9 a.m.

Popular virtual games returning this year are bingo and trivia, with new questions for added challenge.
