LaMonica Wiggins, the new entrepreneurship librarian at Pitt’s University Library System, works with people who are exploring new business ventures and assists them with industry, company and market research to support their ideas.
At the 10th annual Randall Family Big Idea competition, 13 student teams were awarded a total of $100,000 for their inventions and innovations. A new Big Idea Center was also announced, set to open in the 2018-19 academic year.

Samir Lakhani (A&S '15) is one of 10 CNN Hero of the Year finalists vying for a $100,000 grant to advance their work. His project has brought sanitized and recycled soap to rural areas in Cambodia, Laos, Tanzania, Rwanda and Nepal.
