The space formerly known as the Academic Resource Center has a new name, a new look and a new approach to student success. With mobile study labs around campus, a Khan Academy-inspired video library and academic coaching provided by peers, the new Study Lab aims to provide everything students need to achieve their academic goals.

Emergency room professionals often see patients with mental health issues. School of Social work senior Brandon Thomas has developed a training module to address stigma and bias among medical professionals toward these patients. His research is showing some promising early results.

Former Pennsylvania governors Tom Ridge and Ed Rendell have differed ideologically over the years, but also are like-minded on other matters, including the value of civility and compromise in politics today. The two spoke at the University of Pittsburgh’s 2019 American Experience Distinguished Lecture Series, where another former Pennsylvania governor, Dick Thornburgh, was presented with the Elsie Hilliard Hillman Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Public Service.
