Market Central reached its initial Real Food Challenge goal two years early.

Alumnus John R. Fagan has 30 years of book publishing experience, including as vice president and director of marketing for Penguin Books.

In this newly created role, she will work to advance University initiatives that aim to foster economic growth on campus and across the region.

Andrew Feranchak, an internationally recognized expert in liver disease, has been appointed chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

Feranchak, a native of Pittsburgh, received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

The award annually recognizes Pitt faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and staff members for their work to advance social causes in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The University's vice provost and dean of students joins a group of more than 500 local African American men who have inspired and encouraged their communities to excel.

The School of Social Work dean has been recognized by the Society for Social Work and Research and Nabhi Christian Ministries of Lincoln/Larimer.

Three faculty and staff, one student and nine alumni made the 19th annual list.

The University has won in its division in each competition since it first took up the challenge in 2013.

The University's senior vice chancellor and chief legal officer will serve a three-year term.
