The Wednesday, Oct. 28, event will feature a panel of civil-military experts discussing how the military’s reputation for being politically neutral is being challenged during the current election cycle.

The University is extending the Winter Recess period to begin on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, providing three additional paid holidays to the calendar. The change was made in appreciation for “the extraordinary efforts of our faculty and staff and to keep our community safe,” said David N. DeJong in the announcement yesterday.

The 50th Annual Jazz Seminar and Concert, titled “Celebrating Dr. Nathan Davis and Geri Allen,” will be held on Nov. 2nd through Nov 7th.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is hosting two panel discussions on Oct. 28 and 29, focusing on the accomplishments of and opportunities for people with disabilities in the workplace.

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, people across the country will be casting their ballots and students, faculty and staff at the University are encouraged to make sure their vote is counted. The Pittsburgh campus is home to several on-campus polling locations, and to accommodate safe and lawful voting on Election Day, additional health and safety measures will be implemented at and around these sites.

The Center for Creativity encourages everyone in the Pitt community to break out their digital cameras and phones, record their ideas and send their minute-long videos for inclusion in the gallery.

Participants whose tweets received the most likes received a daily prize. Additionally, three overall grand prizes of $1,000 were awarded. See who won. 

Researchers can apply to become early users of Bridges-2, the newest generation of the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center’s Bridges supercomputer computational research platform. The deadline is Oct. 30.

In response to an increase in cases on campus, the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford campus will move to the Elevated Risk operational posture, effective Oct. 21.
