To keep our University community members informed, prepared and safe, the University-wide Closure and Class Cancellation Policy was updated in 2019, and operates in conjunction with the University's pandemic response procedures and operational postures. Read the policy. 

Eligibility is limited to represented (union-eligible) employees who have served a minimum of 10 consecutive years of full-time service at the University and who have reached age 59 by Sept. 1, 2020. Learn more about the program.

With Nov. 3 just days away, many people still have questions on how, where and whether they can vote. Get information on issues such as voting while in isolation or quarantine, voting in person and casting a mail-in ballot.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to submit workshop proposals and nominate partnerships and peers for awards for the 2021 Community Engaged Scholarship Forum, "Progress Through Partnerships: Advancing Community Resilience," by Friday, Nov. 20, 2020. 

This celebratory gathering is a tribute to the African Studies inaugural director Joseph K. Adjaye. The event will honor his memory through the establishment of an endowed scholarship to help students study Africa.

The Wednesday, Oct. 28, event will feature a panel of civil-military experts discussing how the military’s reputation for being politically neutral is being challenged during the current election cycle.

The University is extending the Winter Recess period to begin on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, providing three additional paid holidays to the calendar. The change was made in appreciation for “the extraordinary efforts of our faculty and staff and to keep our community safe,” said David N. DeJong in the announcement yesterday.

The 50th Annual Jazz Seminar and Concert, titled “Celebrating Dr. Nathan Davis and Geri Allen,” will be held on Nov. 2nd through Nov 7th.
