Pitt’s rating was based on its achievements in five overall areas: academics, engagement, operations, planning and administration and innovation and leadership.

The University's newly established Office of Sustainability will coordinate its many sustainability initiatives, foster collaboration and monitor progress toward the bold goals outlined in the Pitt Sustainability Plan.

Market Central reached its initial Real Food Challenge goal two years early.

Professor Götz Veser will lead the projects, with funding totaling nearly $10 million.

The University has won in its division in each competition since it first took up the challenge in 2013.
