PhD Student Takes a Data-driven Look at Art

Using digital analyses, PhD candidate Sarah Reiff Conell examines cults in medieval Europe, sculptors working for French royalty and, in a first, collections at the National Gallery of Art. Her work could help museums display more diverse works of art.

Students Comb Pitt Archives for Credit

Uncovering stories from the medieval era to the recent past, undergraduate researchers followed their passions to dig deep into the University Library System archives. Their research adds new perspectives and scholarship to little-known historical events, practices and objects.

Two Named to German Academic Exchange Service

Pitt undergraduate student Brooke Riscoe (left) and graduate student Emi Finkelstein have been named to the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), translated in English as the German Academic Exchange Service.

The DAAD is Germany’s national agency for the support of international academic cooperation. The agency provides a variety of educational and research opportunities, including support of study abroad experiences within German laboratories and research institutions.
