A keynote panel at the upcoming Community Engaged Scholarship Forum will discuss how we can help neighborhoods and local institutions more deeply understand one another and strengthen their connections.

Pitt epidemiologist Dara Mendez will lead a conversation about race, women’s health and inequity with scholar Dána-Ain Davis on Feb. 26, as part of the Graduate School of Public Health’s One Book, One Community program. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Pitt’s retail stores are participating in a neighborhood-wide gift card program that aims to support the Oakland business district’s shops and restaurants during the pandemic—all while helping the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. To date, more than 15,500 meals have been donated.

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will host online discussions with two leaders in the Black arts community in honor of Black History Month: renowned poet Nikki Giovanni and music industry executive Mathew Knowles.
