Alex-Jaden Peart (A&S ’24) has won a Fulbright Austria U.S. Teaching Assistantship (USTA). Since 1962, the country’s Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research has awarded recent U.S. college and university graduates interested in teaching English in Austria.

The Pitt alumnus will work 13 hours weekly in one or two of the country’s secondary schools and receive a monthly salary along with medical insurance.

Peart, who earned a Bachelor of Philosophy from Pitt’s Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and David C. Frederick Honors College, is currently using his Lionel Pearson Fellowship to continue his classics studies at Cambridge University. He also served as commencement speaker for the Frederick Honors College’s spring ceremony in 2024.
