Several students from Pennsylvania’s Penncrest and Titusville Area school districts were recognized on May 30 for completed manufacturing training programs at the Manufacturing Assistance Center (MAC) at the Education and Training Center (ETC) at Pitt-Titusville.

Seniors from Maplewood Junior-Senior High School completed Introduction to Basic Machining Processes and Introduction to CNC Operations and Theory courses, gaining hands-on experience in critical manufacturing skills.

Several students also secured externship opportunities, with many already receiving offers of employment. Those students and locations are:

  • Cody Gerow, Matthew Jones and Nathan Tharp II at Leech Industries in Meadville
  • Carl Crosley and Derek Shaw at Precision Profiles in Titusville
  • Aidan Baker and Aidan Klimovich at PROper Cutter in Guys Mills

Several Titusville High School students completed Introduction to CNC Operations and Theory, further sharpening their technical expertise. Those participating students were sophomore Lucas Henderson, senior John “Joe” Herman, junior Coleman Huck, junior Coleman Knapp, senior Noah Shambaugh and junior Sawyer Wolfkiel.

“We are thrilled to celebrate these students, who have shown remarkable determination in learning the skills essential to the modern manufacturing industry,” said Melanie LaLone, workforce readiness and recruitment coordinator for the MAC. “Their achievements underscore the importance of fostering technical education and career pathways that strengthen our regional workforce.”

ETC Executive Director Stephanie Fiely said, “we are thrilled to work with Penncrest and Titusville school districts to assist with training their students in high-demand fields in Northwestern Pennsylvania. ETC and the MAC remain committed to providing high-quality technical training and preparing students for successful careers in manufacturing to help fortify the region. As these students take their next steps, they carry with them the expertise and confidence to contribute meaningfully to the industry.”
