A Pitt student group earned American Chemical Society honors

The American Chemical Society (ACS) recognized the University of Pittsburgh’s ACS Student Affiliates group with two awards for 2024-25.

The Pitt student group earned the Outstanding ACS Student Communities Award and the Green Chemistry Award. Throughout the academic year, the chapter coordinated more than 45 events, including a variety of speakers from academia and industry, professional development workshops, social celebrations and undergraduate research presentations.

Pitt’s ACS group also hosted many community outreach activities that allowed students to share their love of science and chemistry with young kids living in the surrounding communities of Pittsburgh.
