Pitt’s United Way Campaign for the 2025-26 academic year has launched with a new goal: to raise 110% of last year’s total of more than $702,000. Luckily, there are plenty of new and returning opportunities for the University community to join in the campaign’s impactful work.
For decades, the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania has collaborated with local programs and agencies to deliver health, education and economic mobility solutions for children, older adults, veterans, people with disabilities, women and families who need them. Pitt’s contributions each year help foster these collaborations and make an impact on local communities.
This year’s campaign is led by co-chairs Lina Dostilio, vice chancellor for external relations, and Dwayne Pinkney, executive senior vice chancellor for administration and finance and chief financial officer. Hear them and other key campaign staffers the importance of the United Way Campaign’s work in the launch video below.
Make a donation
Faculty and staff can once again give via payroll deductions and vacation hour donations — the final day to make such contributions is Dec. 10. Both options can be selected on my.pitt.edu through the United Way app, and donors can choose to remain anonymous.
If you made a payroll pledge in last year’s campaign, Pitt will rollover that pledge at the same contribution amount and with the same designations unless you make a change by the deadline. You can give up to 40 hours of vacation time; donated hours will be deducted from your vacation bank in January 2026.
Faculty or staff who make or confirm their payroll deduction by Nov. 15 will be entered for Pitt United Way Experiences Raffle prizes, including a $100 Pamela’s Diner gift card, a Carnegie Museums family membership, two tickets to a Sip of Pittsburgh Brewery Tour and two tickets for an in-depth Fallingwater tour.
This list of volunteer opportunities, workshops and events will be updated throughout the campaign. Staff and faculty can record up to 7.5 hours per month on their timecard for volunteer service, with supervisor approval.
