Joseph McCarthy, vice provost for undergraduate studies, will serve as a search for the new dean continues.

Lia Petrose, a 2017 graduate with degrees in neuroscience and economics, will head to the University of Oxford in the U.K. to study computer science and philosophy.

Brian A. Primack, a scholarly researcher and professor of medicine, pediatrics and clinical and translational science in the School of Medicine, will commence his deanship July 1. 

Pitt Honors will also support special project proposals from students and staff.

Matt Schultz (A&S ’10), manager of recruitment in the University Honors College, recently debuted “The Boonies,” a feature-length horror film shot primarily in Cambria, Somerset and Allegheny counties. 

Schultz co-wrote and acted in the film, which was released widely in April and had a limited theatrical release in Los Angeles. The plot follows campers who find themselves fighting for survival against cannibals in the Appalachian woods.

The Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation announced their 2021 John C. Mascaro Faculty Awards in Sustainability. The John C. Mascaro Faculty program is designed to enhance the University’s mission of interdisciplinary excellence in sustainability research and education.
