Pitt Police won for a program that collects unwanted food from students’ dormitories when they leave campus at the end of the semester and uses it to stock The Pitt Pantry.

Beginning Nov. 1, the Office of Veterans Services will host a series of events aimed at building bridges, promoting understanding and encouraging dialogue.

Howard W. Hanna Jr. and siblings Simone Myers Karp and Lloyd N. Myers have received the highest alumni honor conferred by the University of Pittsburgh and its Alumni Association.

Doswell will be recognized at a luncheon in downtown Pittsburgh on Dec. 12, 2019.

Keller serves as operations manager for the Carnegie Project on the education doctorate program housed within Pitt’s School of Education.

She’s a two-time alumna, director of recruitment for the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, and pursuing her EdD.

She is currently serving her pediatric dental residency at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The event gathered 42 delegates from 12 countries and 11 U.S. states for an intensive learning and civic engagement experience at the University of Pittsburgh.

Derricotte received the award along with the colleague with whom she founded Cave Canem, a national poetry organization that cultivates “the artistic and professional growth of African American poets.”
