The winners of the award, which recognizes those who promote justice, will be honored at a Nov. 11 event.

The two-year grant will be used to help companies large and small to improve overall business practices, environmental quality and economic equality.

The award will be presented to the University of Pittsburgh school, division, department or unit making a significant contribution to fostering equity, diversity and inclusion in our community.

Several panel moderators described the virtual conference’s first day as moving. The events are free and open to all. 

Members and advisors of the group say it’s an important cultural and social space for Pitt’s growing Latinx student population, which has doubled since 2011.
